Lynette Eason has been one of my favorite romantic suspense authors for a long time so I was so excited to see she was starting a new series。 I was thrilled when I found out this story was taking place in the mountains of western North Carolina as I called that beautiful setting home at one time。 I was hooked on the story from the beginning as it was full of action and nail-biting suspense。 I will say the story definitely kept me guessing until the end as it kept changing directions just when I Lynette Eason has been one of my favorite romantic suspense authors for a long time so I was so excited to see she was starting a new series。 I was thrilled when I found out this story was taking place in the mountains of western North Carolina as I called that beautiful setting home at one time。 I was hooked on the story from the beginning as it was full of action and nail-biting suspense。 I will say the story definitely kept me guessing until the end as it kept changing directions just when I thought I knew what was going on。 Let me just say that I never saw the very end coming!! I feel like I should note that I found the creep factor a little higher in this book than maybe some of her others as she takes readers into the mind of a serial killer。 However, it did not bother me because it was all so well done and was never more than I could handle。 A cat and mouse hunt for a serial killer through the mountains definitely made for an exciting read。 I am looking forward to the rest of the series。Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for a copy of this audiobook。 All opinions expressed are entirely my own。 。。。more

By far the best romantic suspense book I have ever read! Lynette Eason has taken her writing to a new level with this one and other authors’ best pay attention or get left in her dust。Penny Carlton had a rough upbringing, and after spending time in juvie, she now spends her time as an EMS helicopter pilot。 Her latest mission sends her out in a dangerous storm to pick up an injured and critical patient that will die if Penny can’t get her down the mountain in time。 Something goes wrong with the helicopter and she is forced to set down on the side of the mountain and look for help。 Unknown to Penny, a serial killer is on the loose and in the area。 FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield shows up just as the killer is getting ready to attack Penny。 Together, they take the killer down but soon find out Penny is still in danger when they learn the person on the side of the mountain wasn’t the person they thought。 With each passing hour, more clues come to light as Penny’s and Holt’s feelings for each other grow making the case even more personal and more dangerous。With each new book, Lynette Eason has shown that she is a powerhouse when it comes to romantic suspense and is leaving others far behind。 I keep saying each new book is her best, but it is true, and Life Flight is leaps and bounds ahead of her others。 Some books have the ability to make a movie play out in my mind while I read, but those are few and far between。 Life Flight was a great movie in my mind that I hated to see it end。 The book started with the kind of action you see in the climax of most others that then peters off for the rest of the pages。 But here it never petered out or slacked in any way, even to the last pages I never once felt the tension let up。 Penny is the kind of lead character that I absolutely love: strong, brave, and put into situations that seem impossible and yet she is able to come out the other side。 The chemistry between main characters in a romantic suspense is a tricky thing; sometimes it works and sometimes it is just annoying。 With Penny and Holt, it was smooth and easy, I never had an eye roll moment or anything to make me doubt the characters intention or action。 I’ve read so many romantic suspense over the years and it is getting harder and harder to find romance between characters that doesn’t make me want to throw the book for lack of chemistry and realistic timeline。 I am so happy with Lynette Eason and the way she is becoming better and better with each book! I hope other authors are looking to her for an example of how it is done。 This is one of those books I wish I could give more than five stars too! I recommend this book to readers who love romantic suspense and Lynette Eason’s writing。I received a complimentary copy of this title from the publisher。 The views and opinions expressed within are my own。 。。。more

The twists and turns in the plot will keep you on the edge of your seat for the entire read。 I love the way that she kept me guessing the whole way through the story。Penny and Holt are unique main characters。 They’re not the stereotypical rich, young, and gorgeous types; they each have issues that require attention, and the way that they relate to each other is impressive – and exciting。 It’s nice to see characters who have complex and realistic personalities, but I enjoy reading about this kind of character more than any other。 This added a depth to the action that made the entire story more intense。Eason’s creativity shines through in every aspect of the plot。 If she ever heads over to the dark side, there will be trouble! This makes for a super exciting story, though, and I can’t wait to read the sequel。 It’s called Crossfire and releases in August – and it’s already on my TBR list。If you’re a fan of high action and suspense, that’s where you’ll want Life Flight to be – on your TBR list – and as quickly as possible。 Grab your copy now and crash land into Penny’s story – you’ll love it!I received a complimentary copy of Life Flight from the author。 All opinions are my own。 。。。more

Wow!!! That was a page-turner, for sure! It was honestly a little creepy yet still so sweet, loveable, and appropriate! There are no spoilers in this review。 I was given a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review。 I was not asked to give a positive review, only honest thoughts。Life Flight was different for me。 I've always enjoyed Lynette Eason's stories, but this one had a couple minor details that didn't seem to fit well in the book。 For every major part of the "good book" list of ingredients, there was a tiny flaw that had a small ripple effect on the rest of the adventur There are no spoilers in this review。 I was given a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review。 I was not asked to give a positive review, only honest thoughts。Life Flight was different for me。 I've always enjoyed Lynette Eason's stories, but this one had a couple minor details that didn't seem to fit well in the book。 For every major part of the "good book" list of ingredients, there was a tiny flaw that had a small ripple effect on the rest of the adventure。 Don't get me wrong, I definitely enjoyed this book! But, I also need to keep my word, a promise to be honest as I write this review。 It's been a HUGE pleasure being on Lynette's launch team, an opportunity I will be forever grateful for! But I want to be helpful in my reviews, and that involves an open honesty in what I say。 That probably all sounded like I didn't like this book, but I'm about to explain a bit more。 To put it plainly, the reason for 4 stars is that while this book was very fun and exciting and suspenseful, some pieces of the story just don't click well with *my* personal tastes。 So all that to say, I definitely recommend this novel, it just wasn't my favorite。 Now that all that is cleared up, let me fangirl a little bit。 Lynette Eason is a genius。 Really, she is。 I've always loved her stories, and I'm proud to say that I haven't had any bad experiences with her books, so I can wholeheartedly suggest her books to many friends。 Her concepts and plot lines are unique and refreshing, but she also creates likeable, smart characters。 As for Life Flight, I can sum up my issues (which really aren't big problems at all) now。 The characters were likeable and smart, but I had several moments where I just didn't understand their decisions。 The plot was captivating, but certain aspects were a bit cliche。 The action was intense and suspenseful, but it was fairly predictable。 The setting was bold and creative and visually stunning, but a bit short-lived maybe? Like the build-up didn't entirely follow through。 The romance (side note here, I really appreciated the lack of insta-love or love triangles) was well done, but I never really felt a strong connection between the two characters。 The dialogue was realistic, but a bit distant, like I didn't feel immersed in the scene, but rather as an outsider looking in。I guess my point is this。 Those small details didn't satisfy my personal preferences, so as a reviewer I decided to take off one star, but only one, because the novel as a whole was what i consider well made and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends that I know like this type of adventure。 Overall, I DO suggest this book to my friends and community, but it wasn't my favorite Lynette Eason novel。 And as a final note, can I just take a moment and admire that captivating cover!! One final thanks to Lynette Eason and Tammy Karasek for the opportunity to get an ARC。 I'm forever grateful to you and your faithfulness to our Savior。 God Bless you all! 。。。more

I also need to say that while the narration is good the narrator has the oddest, most irritating way of sometimes saying the words “to” and “a” making her sound like a robot。 At the beginning this kept pulling me out of the story and keeping me from staying immersed in it。 Ultimately this is written well and the characters are likeable and engaging。 If you can suspend your disbelief this is a rip roaring ride that doesn’t let up from start to finish。 。。。more

This is a chilling thriller。 Penny is a rescue pilot who transports patients with life threatening injuries。 It starts off with her boss sending her out in weather she should not be flying in and an emergency landing。 Penny goes to find help and finds out a serial killer is on the loose。 She is brave and well trained in self defense which will certainly come in handy。 Holt is an FBI agent who she saved when he was injured by the same serial killer two years prior。 Penny and Holt have a casual re This is a chilling thriller。 Penny is a rescue pilot who transports patients with life threatening injuries。 It starts off with her boss sending her out in weather she should not be flying in and an emergency landing。 Penny goes to find help and finds out a serial killer is on the loose。 She is brave and well trained in self defense which will certainly come in handy。 Holt is an FBI agent who she saved when he was injured by the same serial killer two years prior。 Penny and Holt have a casual relationship but both would not mind more。 As they are thrown together when Penny becomes the killer's target, emotions run high and people are not who they appear to be。 Holt will need to figure it out before more lives are taken and he has a chance to let Penny know how he feels。 。。。more

Wow, Author Lynette Eason starts her new series Extreme Measures with title Life Flight。 As soon as you start it you will find yourself on an adrenaline rush。 When I started this book I read it all in one sitting til after 2 a。m。 I just couldn't put it down。The characters are flawed like we all are and this makes it even more realistic。 I enjoyed seeing EMS helicopter pilot Penny Carlton and FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield's interaction。 He was very protective of her, always having her back b Wow, Author Lynette Eason starts her new series Extreme Measures with title Life Flight。 As soon as you start it you will find yourself on an adrenaline rush。 When I started this book I read it all in one sitting til after 2 a。m。 I just couldn't put it down。The characters are flawed like we all are and this makes it even more realistic。 I enjoyed seeing EMS helicopter pilot Penny Carlton and FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield's interaction。 He was very protective of her, always having her back but in actuality I think she had his back more often, coming to his rescue many times。 They have a good and respectful relationship, both working and personal。Nonstop action in this one doesn't allow the characters for much down time。 I did enjoy seeing the long standing relationship Penny has with her girlfriends and the time they spend together。A wicked storm has Penny out in it trying to land her medical helicopter safely on a mountain。 Her stress level is already up but she then finds out about a serial killer on the loose in the area she is in。 The author writes with such talent her books are very intriguing。I'll tell you one thing, I drink a lot of tea and I will never think of it the same way again。Pub Date 04 Jan 2022I was given a complimentary copy of this book。All opinions expressed are my own。 。。。more

This was a very fast paced suspense read for me。 EMS helicopter Penny Carlton has a patient on board that needs to get to a hospital but the helicopter isn’t going to make it, so she has to make a quick decision to land in the next open area and that’s on top of a mountain in a rainy storm。 She takes to heart that she is accountable for all on the aircraft and makes it her mission to always put their safety first on every flight。This flight is unlike any others she has done in the past, and yes This was a very fast paced suspense read for me。 EMS helicopter Penny Carlton has a patient on board that needs to get to a hospital but the helicopter isn’t going to make it, so she has to make a quick decision to land in the next open area and that’s on top of a mountain in a rainy storm。 She takes to heart that she is accountable for all on the aircraft and makes it her mission to always put their safety first on every flight。This flight is unlike any others she has done in the past, and yes they do training for different situations but its much different in real life, and real time。 Penny goes in search of help and finds that their situation just got bad to worse- there is also a maniac serial killer on the mountain and if he gets to the chopper before she can get help, the others may not survive this flight。This was such a good suspense read。 It starts right from page one, and does not end to the very last。 Although there were quite a few characters, the author did a great job at writing them in with different personalities and separating each one from the other so you could follow easily through the storyline。 The author also does a great job with the events through out as well, I never had any idea what was going to happen next。Thank you to JustRead Tours and Revell publishing for the free book。 I am excited to see the next books in this Extreme Measures series。 I will also be looking to pick up other novels this author has written。 。。。more

As with any other book I’ve read by Lynette Eason, Life Flight is a gripping story from page one。 Its life-or-death opening scene reeled me in quickly。 I planned to read a chapter before an appointment and ran late because I figured I had time to read “one more。” Penny and Holt are interesting characters with unique life skills and experiences。 Penny is easy to connect with even though she’s very different from me。 And I really liked Holt’s subtleties。 Searching for a serial killer keeps the plo As with any other book I’ve read by Lynette Eason, Life Flight is a gripping story from page one。 Its life-or-death opening scene reeled me in quickly。 I planned to read a chapter before an appointment and ran late because I figured I had time to read “one more。” Penny and Holt are interesting characters with unique life skills and experiences。 Penny is easy to connect with even though she’s very different from me。 And I really liked Holt’s subtleties。 Searching for a serial killer keeps the plot moving along, and the romance (clean) is satisfying (yet a bit quick for my taste。) I love the faith-filled nuances throughout the story。 This fast-paced mystery with elements of romance kept my interest and stirred a desire to read more in the series。 A rewarding read。Thank you to Revell for providing a complimentary copy。 。。。more

Another fabulous series by Eason。 I absolutely love that I started the new year with an outstanding book。 The heroine is strong and intelligent。 The hero knows how to recognize his equal in a woman and give her the respect she deserves。 All of this subtle romance is happening while tracking a serial killer with a crush on Penny。 There are wonderful secondary characters, that I hope get their own story, with a connection to Penny from her childhood。 Despite all the action and puzzle pieces the bo Another fabulous series by Eason。 I absolutely love that I started the new year with an outstanding book。 The heroine is strong and intelligent。 The hero knows how to recognize his equal in a woman and give her the respect she deserves。 All of this subtle romance is happening while tracking a serial killer with a crush on Penny。 There are wonderful secondary characters, that I hope get their own story, with a connection to Penny from her childhood。 Despite all the action and puzzle pieces the book flowed quickly and I couldn’t put it down。 I received my copy through Netgalley and provided my review honestly。 。。。more

Thank you, Netgalley and Lynette Eason, for a complimentary copy of this book! This review reflects my honest opinion! What a great way to start my reading year! This is a pulse-racing, breath-holding suspense thriller with two strong protagonists。 Penny Carlton is a helicopter pilot and EMT who has a deep attraction to FBI agent Holt Satterfield。 Their attraction to each other has to be put on hold when Holt has to capture an escaped serial killer who seems to be targeting him and Penny。 There are some twists and some really intense moments in the plot, so it was an absorbing book to read。 I really enjoyed that the characters were totally fleshed out, i This is a pulse-racing, breath-holding suspense thriller with two strong protagonists。 Penny Carlton is a helicopter pilot and EMT who has a deep attraction to FBI agent Holt Satterfield。 Their attraction to each other has to be put on hold when Holt has to capture an escaped serial killer who seems to be targeting him and Penny。 There are some twists and some really intense moments in the plot, so it was an absorbing book to read。 I really enjoyed that the characters were totally fleshed out, including their family connections and their past mistakes。 With a theme of forgiveness and family and hope for the future, this first book in a new series holds the promise for many more hours of mesmerizing entertainment and more than a few pounds of my heart。 I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys to be engaged in a life or death struggle against a wily foe。DisclaimerDisclosure of Material Connection: I received a complimentary copy of this book from The Revell Reads Blogger Tour。 I was not required to write a positive review。 The opinions expressed are my own。 I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255, “Guides Concerning the Use of Testimonials and Endorsements in Advertising。” 。。。more

SO VERRRRY GOOD!!Grabbed my attention from the first chapter (THAT right there is rare and blesses me) and got to love Penny immediately。 WOW did Eason effectively describe the storm well in the beginning, I felt like I was watching a movie from her writing and it was tangibly done!LOOOOOVED the dialogue! As a picky reader it's a challenge to find good dialogue in fiction, Eason NAILS it here。 It's SUPER difficult for me to write good dialogue, but books like this one is a perfect example of how SO VERRRRY GOOD!!Grabbed my attention from the first chapter (THAT right there is rare and blesses me) and got to love Penny immediately。 WOW did Eason effectively describe the storm well in the beginning, I felt like I was watching a movie from her writing and it was tangibly done!LOOOOOVED the dialogue! As a picky reader it's a challenge to find good dialogue in fiction, Eason NAILS it here。 It's SUPER difficult for me to write good dialogue, but books like this one is a perfect example of how it should be done。That one character, Frankie the Reporter, hated him at first! However, he served SUCH a good purpose in the story that it was impossible to hate him at the end。 Wishing the author had provided what the interview sounded like because the writing here is so good it would have been the cherry topping for me。Holt is fabulous in every way。 He just understood exactly how to win Penny over and even though it took time for him to get there with her, he gave his all and it makes this reader happy sigh。 The part where she rubs her cheek raw from disgust and how he improves the situation, what a guy! Penny is JUST as smart and compassionate and helpful as Holt is in this incredible investigation, it was wonderful seeing how their story played out。The bad guy in this one, again PERFECTLY written and creepy but made total sense and it was amazing how things unfolded with him。 NEVER would have guessed the conclusion and everything was clean yet INTENSELY suspenseful。 Loved how Penny kept tackling when the moment called for it, she is just an amazing character and easy to relate to despite her incredible piloting skills。 I've said this before, hate when cops are killed in life and in fiction。 THAT mindset is emphasized with the characters in this book and made me love the story more。 Only one agent is killed and it's off page, but his loss is felt in their community and they work their hardest on ensuring no one is injured while doing their jobs。 No idea if FBI is like this in real life, but I like to think that they are。Can't gush about this book enough, totally recommend!Received a free copy from the publisher via NetGalley。 I was not required to write a positive review。 I was not compensated in any way, the thoughts and comments are my own。 。。。more
